Before you start
- Your client list needs to be formatted as a CSV file.
- Your list needs to include clients' first names, last names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Larger lists may require a manual review. When this occurs, we send you an email requesting additional information and notify you when the upload is complete. Manual reviews are triggered if:
- The import adds a number of new contacts greater than or equal to 50% of the location's current number of contacts.
- The new contacts imported have exceeded 10,000 contacts added for the location within the past week.
- When uploading a client list, clients that do not have an existing profile in Mindbody will not have profiles created in your software.
- If a matching profile exists in your software and the Sync Settings option is enabled in your Marketing Suite, the client's email preferences are updated based on the information in the uploaded document.
- Make sure that you have received their permission before changing a client's opt-in preferences. If they have not agreed to receive this type of communication from you, you may violate local laws and regulations by subscribing them.
- When choosing to create a new static list in the import, it can take up to three hours for the static list to populate.
- Clients in a CSV file without a phone number or email address are skipped in the upload and are not uploaded to the Marketing Suite.
Upload contacts
- Click Marketing > Marketing Suite > Manage beside either Feedback and reviews or Referrals.
Note: When you're logged in to your Mindbody site, you can use the following link to visit the screen in your software: Your Marketing Suite. - In the menu on the left, click Contacts > Import Contacts.
- Click Upload a New CSV File.
- Choose a CSV file from the sources on the left or drag and drop one from your desktop.
- Check the box to create a new static list and type in the name of the list.
- Choose what information is being imported.
- The fields from your list are showing on the left under "Field (and first record)."
- On the right, under the "What should Marketing Suite import it as?" section, select what data is imported and what it is added as.
- If you do not want to import data from a column in your document, select *** Do Not Import *** for that field.
Note: First name, last name, and email address are required fields. - Pay special attention to subscription preference fields to avoid opting clients in or out incorrectly.
- Click Start Import.
